Supporting the Work of TfT

We need your support to continue and develop our work. Because of the nature of our ministry many are wary of supporting us and so we need the prayer, encouragement, and financial help of as many Churches, groups and individuals as possible.

It costs almost £2,500 a week to run TfT. As a charity we depend heavily on the free-will giving of Christians who share our vision for this part of God's work. We make no formal charge for our ministry, although we do appreciate donations from those who receive help from us.

Three ways you can support the work of TfT:

  • Praying. Prayer is of the highest importance as we seek to minister wholeness and God's love. We are very aware of the spiritual battles that accompany our work, and we greatly appreciate the prayers of all who can support us in overcoming them.
  • Encouraging. We very much need and value your personal encouragement. But please also encourage your Churches, leaders and friends to get to know what TfT can offer-brochures and posters are available to help you do this. If you are not one already, why not become a TfT member by going to the "Getting in Touch" page. You will then receive our quarterly newsletter, prayer card and other information.
  • Giving. TfT has regular outgoings, but our income is often very irregular! For this reason the best financial support is by monthly Standing Order. Regular monthly gifts of £10 or £20 from sufficient people make a big impact, and allow us to plan ahead knowing we have a sound financial base.

Donations made by tax payers (large or small, regular payments or single gifts) qualify for tax relief under the Gift Aid scheme.

This can increase the value of your donations by up to 28%. That means for every £10 you give, we get an extra £2.80 from Inland Revenue.

Membership

Membership is open to anyone aged 18 or over who is committed to the ideals of TfT and is in agreement with our Basis. Members receive our newsletter and other information each quarter and support our work prayerfully and financially if possible. Our conferences, Barnabas Groups and email/forum groups are only open to members of TfT. If you would like to apply to join the membership please go to the Contact TfT page and make sure you tick the Application for membership of TfT box.

Members Area

The Members Area is a forum for members of TfT to discuss and share encouragements, insights and prayer requests. These forums are restricted to members of TfT, in order to create a safe and confidential place for people to share. If you'd like to join our membership and participate in the forums, then please Contact TfT and we'll send you what you need to join.

Voluntary Workers

We also have a team of Voluntary Workers (VWs), for those members who are willing to get more involved. Our VWs around the UK are essential members of our team and get involved in some or all of the following activities:

  • Meeting new contacts and performing initial assessments, to establish how TfT can best help them
  • Leading our Barnabas support groups
  • Speaking on behalf of TfT
  • Writing articles, leaflets etc
  • Providing one-to-one support for TfT contacts

Pray for TfT

We would value your prayers for our ministry. If you join our membership, we will send you a quarterly prayer card along with our newsletter to inform you of specific prayer points.

If you would like to prayer for us more generally, we always need prayers in these areas:

  • God’s continued provision in terms of finance and resources
  • Individuals coming to us for help - that they would find love, encouragements and support
  • Our staff team as they co-ordinate the ministry, offer support and organise events
  • Our team of Voluntary Workers, as they lead Barnabas support groups and meet with new contacts
  • Our speakers, as they share their own stories and help the church to remain faithful to the Bible's teachings
  • TfT's profile and influence on the wider church

Promote TfT

Our Media Policy is to avoid involvement with media organisations. This enables us to focus our energies on supporting the people who come to us for help. However, it does mean that we miss out on opportunities to become better known.

So, we would value any help in promoting our services within the church. Ways that you might be able do this include:

  • Link to this website (www.truefreedomtrust.co.uk) on your church/organisation website, blog, Facebook page etc
  • Invite one of our speakers to your church meeting/service
  • Display some our leaflets/posters on your church notice board
  • Feature an article/advert from TfT in your church newsletter

Please contact us for any resources that we can provide to support you in promoting the message and services of TfT.
