Just Sex cover

by Guy Brandon

Have you struggled to understand why God’s formula for relationships is the right one? Or to find a way to explain it to non-believers? Or even to understand for yourself why God’s way is best? Then this is the book you have been waiting for, as the author explains the Christian world view of sex in a way that makes sense at both ends of the spectrum.

‘Just Sex’ seeks to explain the goodness of the Christian world-view of sex in terms that our culture understands and accepts, without relying solely on the theological arguments that have lost traction with many people.

There are a lot of facts, figures and statistics; some of which are eye-opening, others we knew but couldn’t put into words. It is worth going through all of this heavy stuff as there is much food for thought. The material is usefully presented in terms of various social aspects of relationships, how social norms (and legal baselines) have drifted away from the Biblical baseline and the consequences of that drift. These include: perspectives, foundations, opportunities, order, damage, churches, public policy and sex.

There is a useful appendix entitled “Sex in the Bible: twenty questions answered” which briefly discusses ‘some of the arguments from biblical texts about sexual issues.’

This is a book it is well worth taking the time to read.
